OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to struck-by, fall, and/or caught between hazards associated with the installation of prefabricated roof trusses that were not adequately braced. a) New Fire Station Construction located at 5761 Mableton Parkway, Mableton, GA 30126: On 06/11/2019, and at times prior, employees installing 64-feet, 6-inch roof trusses weighing up to 579 lbs. per truss, and the employer did not assure that the Temporary Installation Restraint/Bracing and the Permanent Individual Truss Member Restraint and Diagonal Bracing were installed properly and exposed employees to struck-by, fall, and/or caught between hazards.

29 CFR 1926.501(b)(1): Each employee on a walking/working surface with an unprotected side or edge which was 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above a lower level was not protected from falling by the use of guardrail systems, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems. a) New Fire Station Construction located at 5761 Mableton Parkway, Mableton, GA 30126: On 06/11/2019, and at times prior, the employer exposed employees to falls of 16-feet, 10-inches from the top plates and truss webbing, in that a fall protection system was not provided to employees performing framing activities and setting trusses.

The employer did not communicate the hazards and/or have a fall protection plan to train employees in the use of fall arrest systems.
