29 CFR 1926.501(b)(11): Each employee on a steep roof with unprotected sides and edges 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above lower levels was not protected from falling by guardrail systems with toeboards, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems: (a) Coates Bros. Roofing, Inc., on or about June 18th, 2019, at the location of 396 Park Ave., Amherst, OH, 44001: The employer did not ensure that employees performing roofing activities on a steep roof were protected from fall hazards. Employees were exposed to fall hazards of 8 feet to the ground below at the point of access on the south side of the building and 10 feet to the concrete below on the east side of the building. Coates Bros. Roofing, LLC, was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard, 1910.501(b)(11), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1268820, citation number 1, item number 2, and was affirmed as a final order on 12/12/2017 with respect to a workplace located at 3557 S. Arlington Rd., Akron, OH 44312.
