29 CFR 1910.134(g)(1)(i)(A): Respirators with tight-fitting facepieces were worn by employees who had facial hair that came between the sealing surface of the facepiece and the face or that interfered with valve function: Chemical Mixing Room: An employee with facial hair, wore a half face respirator during the mixing of Potassium Hydroxide Flake and Zinc Oxide. Employee was exposed to inhalation of the extremely corrosive flakes while wearing a 3-M 1/2 face respirator with about 1/4 inch beard length. Incident occurred that morning with employee in room.
