29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks:    On or about June 17, 2019 and times prior thereto, the employer did not effectively guard the following machines to protect the machine's operator, exposing employees to the hazard of coming in contact with moving machinery.    a) Drill presses in the machine shop used to drill holes in the center of the fan blade were not guarded to prevent employees from coming in contact with the moving drill bit or being struck by metal pieces.    b) The conveyor belt in the forge area used to move sand was not effectively guarded to prevent employees from coming in contact with the rotating shaft or the nip points created by the rollers.    c) The employees were operating the band-saw in the grinding area used to cut tubes used in the pouring of aluminum without the guard adjusted over the unused portion of the blade, exposing employees to hazards of being struck by the blade.
