1926.501(b)(1): "Unprotected sides and edges." An employee on a walking/working surface (horizontal and vertical surface) with an unprotected side or edge which was 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above a lower level was not protected from falling by the use of guardrail systems, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems: (a) On or about June 17, 2019, and at times prior, employees were exposed to an 14 foot fall hazard while installing roof materials on a commercial roof with without being protected next to a roof edge in the vicinity of 1001 State Highway Eight in New Salem, North Dakota.
