29 CFR 1926.652(g)(2): Excavations of earth material to a level no greater than 2 feet (.61m) below the bottom of a shield was permitted: a) On or about July 1, 2019, at the above addressed jobsite, employees were installing a water line in a trench with approximately two (2) feet nine (9) inches of earth material unprotected under the shield system, thereby exposing employees to hazards associated with cave-ins.
