29 CFR 1926.501(b)(11): Each employee on a steep roof with unprotected sides and edges 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above lower levels was not protected from falling by guardrail systems with toeboards, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems: (a) Jobsite, Somerset Historical Center, 10649 Somerset Pike, Somerset, PA: On or about June 27, 2019 employees who were spraying sealer on the cedar shingles on a 8/12 pitch roof of a covered bridge were not protected from falling between 10-22 feet by guardrails, safety nets or personal fall arrest systems. An employee fell from the roof and sustained a broken right arm and compression fracture in their back.
