Gibson St., Scranton, PA: An employee was not protected from falling while performing roofing work on a porch roof with an eave height of approximately 12 feet above the ground, on or about July 10, 2019. 29 CFR 1926.1053(b)(1): Where portable ladders were used for access to an upper landing surface and the ladder's length allows, the ladder side rails did not extend at least 3 feet: a) Main Roof, 1613 E. Gibson St, Scranton, PA: Employees were using an extension ladder to access the roof of a residential structure to perform roofing construction activities with the ladder side rails at the eave of the roof and not extended 3 feet beyond the landing surface, exposing employees to a fall hazard, on or about July 10, 2019 b) Front Porch Roof, 1613 E. Gibson St, Scranton, PA: Employees were using an extension ladder to access the front porch roof of a residential structure to perform roofing construction activities with the ladder side rails at the eave of the roof and not extended beyond 3 feet of the landing surface, exposing employees to a fall hazard, on or about July 10, 2019. Abatement Certification Required
