29 CFR 1926.501(b)(1): Each employee on a walking/working surface with an unprotected side or edge which was 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above a lower level was not protected from falling by the use of guardrail systems, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems.    a) Worksite, 4 Robins Road, Central Islip, New York - Employees were doing demolition work on the roof of a residential building approximately 11ft. above the ground and were not protected from falling, on or around 07/10/2019.     Note: Because abatement of this violation is already documented in the case file, the employer need not submit certification or documentation of abatement for this violation as normally required by CFR 1903.19.

29 CFR 1926.850(a): An engineering survey was not performed by a competent person to determine the conditions of the framing floors and walls and the possibility of unplanned collapse of any portion of the structure prior to permitting employees to start demolition operations.    a) Worksite, 4 Robins Rd, Central Islip, New York - An engineering survey to determine the structural integrity of the roof of a residential building approximately 11ft. high was not performed prior to removal of concrete, on or about 07/10/2019.      Note:  The employer is required to submit abatement certification for this item in accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19.
