29 CFR 1926.100(a): Employees working in areas where there is a possible danger of head injury from impact, or from falling or flying objects, or from electrical shock and burns, shall be protected by protective helmets. On or about July 15, 2019, employees conducting roofing installation operations at a single-family home were exposed to struck by hazards when the employer failed to ensure hard hats were utilized. Abatement certification is required of this item in accordance with requirements of 29 CFR 1903.19(c).

29 CFR 1926.501(b)(13): "Residential construction." Each employee engaged in residential construction activities 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above lower levels shall be protected by guardrail systems, safety net system, or personal fall arrest system unless another provision in paragraph (b) of this section provides for an alternative fall protection measure. On or about July 15, 2019 employees performing roofing installation on the upper level at a residential single family property were exposed to a fall of approximately 10 feet when the employer failed to ensure that fall protection was utilized. No abatement certification or documentation is required for this item.
