29 CFR 1926.501(b)(1): "Unprotected sides and edges." Each employee on a walking/working surface (horizontal and vertical surface) with an unprotected side or edge which is 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above a lower level shall be protected from falling by the use of guardrail systems, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems: (a) 1576 Spring Valley Road State College, PA -The employer did not ensure that the employee working on the ledge of the wall foundation directing the crane was protected from falls, with guard rails, safety nets or personal fall protection, thereby exposing employees to a fall hazard of approximately 15 feet, on or about July 10, 2018. Abatement certification and documentation required within 10 days after abatement date. The certification shall include a statement that abatement is complete, the date and method of abatement, and state that employees and their representatives were informed of this abatement. Abatement documentation shall include documents demonstrating that abatement is complete, such as evidence of the purchase or repair of equipment, photographic or video evidence of abatement or other written records.
