29 CFR 1926.501(b)(13): Each employee engaged in residential construction activities 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above lower levels were not protected by guardrail systems, safety net system: a) Habitat for Humanity of the Roaring Fork Valley, Inc. at 211 Gardner Way, Basalt, Colorado, 81621: On or about 7/12/2019 the employer did not ensure that each employee engaged in residential construction activities 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above lower levels were not protected by guardrail systems, safety net system. Employees were working on setting joists while framing a two-story home without fall protection. An employee that was standing on the top plate of the structure fell approximately 12 feet onto a retaining wall below, causing multiple injuries. This condition exposed employees to fall hazards.
