29 CFR 1910.303(b)(2): Listed or labeled electrical equipment was not used or installed in accordance with instructions included in the listing or labeling: (a) Housing and Urban Development at 909 First Avenue Seattle, WA 98104; On or about July 16, 2019 and time prior; A red Keurig and Mr. Coffee coffee pot were plugged into a surge protector (relocatable power tap) in Suite 205 near the entrance. (b) ONAP/ CPD Third floor North Water Cooler Area; On or about July 16, 2019 and time prior; A Mr. Coffee coffee pot and Proctor Silex kettle were plugged into a surge protector (relocatable power tap). (c) ONAP/ CPD Third Floor Center; On or about July 16, 2019 and time prior; A Proctor Silex kettle was plugged into a surge protector (relocatable power tap). (d) Public Housing/ Suite 360; On or about July 16, 2019 and time prior; A Mr. Coffee coffee pot was plugged into a brown extension cord which was plugged into a surge protector (relocatable power tap). CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION The UL listing states that relocatable power taps are designed for low amperage computer and audiovisual types of equipment, and not appliances. The UL listing states that relocatable power taps are designed to be plugged into an outlet, and not daisy chained and plugged into other relocatable power taps or extension cords. This exposes employees to possible electrical fire hazards.

29 CFR 1910.159(c)(10): The minimum vertical clearance of 18 inches between automatic sprinkler systems sprinklers and the material below was not maintained: (a) Housing and Urban Development at 909 First Avenue Seattle, WA 98104; On or about July 16, 2019 and time prior; A sprinkler head was located approximately 7 inches from the top of moveable shelving in the Administrative Storage Room on the 2nd floor.
