29 CFR 1910.212(a)(3)(iii): Special hand tools for placing and removing material(s) was not provided to permit easy handling of material without the operator placing a hand in the danger zone:  On or about July 17, 2019 and at times prior to, at the location of 1331 Kelly Ave, Akron OH 44306, on the production floor, employees required to removed jams caused by hardened, cooled polymer from the mouth of the plastic extruder, Machine #EX-2 (Serial Number 4541) with a putty knife approximately  four inches long were exposed to thermal hazards when heated, melted plastic had built up along the mouth of the extruder which was approximately four feet wide.

Landmark Plastics Corporation was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard 29 CFR 1910.146(c)(4)(i), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1080673, citation number 1, item number 1, and was affirmed as a final order on January 5, 2016, with respect to a workplace located at 1331 Kelly Ave, Akron OH, 44306.
