29 CFR 1910.176(a): Aisle(s) or passageway(s) were not kept in good repair: a) Universal Intermodal Service, Inc. located at 2950 International Street, Columbus, OH, 43228: On and preceding 18 July, 2019, the employer did not ensure that aisles throughout the container holding yard were kept in good repair. The company stores, repairs and transports shipping containers which vary in size. A Hyster model H360HD2-EC4 and Taylor model TEC150H are used to transport the containers which are primarily 20 and 40 feet wide and weigh in excess of 8,000 lbs. The holding yard had large potholes throughout the areas frequently traveled by the PIV's transporting the containers. The following condition exposed employees to hazards associated with ejection from the PIV's.
