29 CFR 1926.251(a)(2)(iii): Not be used without affixed, legible identification markings, required by paragraph (a)(2)(i) of this section. On July 18, 2019, at job-site 287-18 SR 4 Wyoming, OH, a chain sling single leg was utilized to lift road plates in that the identification marking was not affixed to the sling to provide recommended safe working load. In accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19(d), abatement certification is required for this violation (using the CERTIFICATION OF CORRECTIVE ACTION WORKSHEET), and in addition, documentation demonstrating that abatement is complete must be included with your certification. This documentation may include but is not limited to, evidence of the purchase or repair of the equipment, photographic or video evidence, or written records.

29 CFR 1926.251(a)(2)(i): Has permanently affixed and legible identification markings as prescribed by the manufacturer that indicate the recommended safe working load; On and before July 18, 2019, at job-site 287-18 SR 4 Wyoming, OH, a chain sling single leg was not inspected to ensure a legible identification marking was permanently affixed to the sling to provide recommended safe working load. In accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19(d), abatement certification is required for this violation (using the CERTIFICATION OF CORRECTIVE ACTION WORKSHEET), and in addition, documentation demonstrating that abatement is complete must be included with your certification.
