29 CFR 1910.133(a)(2): The employer shall ensure that each affected employee uses eye protection that provides side protection when there is a hazard from flying objects. Detachable side protectors (e.g. clip-on or slide-on side shields) meeting the pertinent requirements of this section are acceptable.  a) On or about July 22, 2019, the employer did not ensure an employee using a Dewalt drill in the sorting department was required to wear eye protection with side protection in that the employee was wearing regular prescription glasses when exposed to flying metal chips.   b) On or about November 7, 2019, the employer did not ensure an employee working in the roll sizer area with the Camdex case processors was required to wear eye protection with side shields in that the employee was wearing regular prescription glasses when exposed to smokeless gunpowder.
