Pine Island Rd. Plantation, FL, an employee working in a trench at approximately 4-feet in depth without a safe means of egress, was exposed to a cave in.

29 CFR 1926.651(j)(2): Employees were not protected from excavated or other materials or equipment that could pose a hazard by falling or rolling into excavations, or by a combination of both if necessary: On or about July 25, 2019, at the above address, along Peter Road near 1000 S. Pine Island Rd. Plantation, FL, an employee working in a trench at approximately 4-feet in depth without the spoil being at least 2 feet from the edge of the trench, exposing the employee to a struck by hazards from excavated materials falling or rolling into the trench or excavation.
