OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1): Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which was free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to struck-by hazards. Location: soil area On or about 7/31/19, employees were exposed to struck-by hazards while walking/working directly under slings (bags) of laundry weighing up to 250 lbs. including slings (bags) which were damaged.

29 CFR 1910.264(d)(1)(v): Operating rules, General. Instruction of employees. Employees shall be properly instructed as to the hazards of their work and be instructed in safe practices, by bulletins, printed rules, and verbal instructions. Location: Soil area On or about 7/30/19, employees exposed to struck-by hazards from overhead slings (bags) of soiled laundry were not instructed to inspect the slings for damage as required by the manufacturer.
