29 CFR 1910.110(b)(17)(v): Open flames, cutting or welding, portable electric tools and extension lights capable of igniting LP Gas were permitted within classified areas specified in table H-28 of this section. Or in the alternative Section (5)(a)(1): The employer failed to furnish to each of his employees employment and a place of employment which was free from recognized hazards that were causing or are likely to cause death or serious physical harm, in that employees were exposed to flash fire hazards: (a) On or about August 6, 2019 for an employee engaged in hot oiling truck activities who suffered burn injuries when a liquid propane flashback occurred while they were attempting to light the pilot burners with a cigarette lighter at the Clarence Federal 34X-7 well site near Watford City, North Dakota.
