OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1): OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to an explosion from the molten metal in the electric arc furnace contacting water. (a) Electric Arc Furnace- 107 Gertrude Street, Latrobe, PA: On or about August 22, 2019, all employees actuating equipment controls on the Electric Arc Furnace were not qualified to operate controls for equipment such as but not limited to the O2 lance.
