29 CFR 1926.652(a)(1): Each employee in an excavation shall be protected from cave-ins by an adequate protective system designed in accordance with paragraph (b) or (c) of this section except when: On the Greenville Bike Trail jobsite, cave in protection was not utilized while installing the culvert pipe while working on the east side of the road exposing employees to cave in hazards. The Vinton Construction Company was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1339727, citation number 1, item number 3 and was affirmed as a final order on October 16, 2018, with respect to a workplace located across from 1506 S. Oneida St. Appleton, Wisconsin.
