29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks: a) Shop Press: On or about September 4, 2019 and times prior, a 55 ton shop press was available for use in the facility to press fan hub bearings. The press was not guarded to prevent employees from reaching into and being crushed by the press during operation.
