29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks: a) UMA Heater Assembly Line; On or about September 4, 2019 and at times prior thereto, the employer exposed employees to caught-in and crushed-by hazards in that employees were placing their hands into the station after the UMA Heater Core QC Test Machine to remove parts from the line exposing themselves to the danger zone created by a mechanical retrieval arm that was in motion to retrieve the same part.
