29 CFR 1910.132(d)(1)(i): When the employer had assessed the workplace hazard(s) and determined that hazard(s) were present, the employer did not select and/or use the types of personal protective equipment that would protect the affected employee from the hazards: a). On or about 9/5/19, on site, for kitchen staff handling GREENEX Quaternary Sanitizer to clean dishes on a daily basis. The product contains chemicals such as, but not limited to, Quaternary Ammonium Compounds. The product is a corrosive as a concentrate. Employees dispense the concentrate into an automatic dispensing system 3-5 times a month. The employer provided vinyl food grade gloves which are not adequate protection. Nitrile gloves would be adequate protection for the chemical. b). On or about 9/5/19, on site, for housekeeping staff, handling Bleach Ultra, a bleach solution. The bleach solution is mixed with an automatic dispensing system with water into a spray bottle on a daily basis. Employees spray bleach daily. The bleach is a corrosive. The employer provided vinyl food grade gloves which are not adequate protection. Nitrile gloves would be adequate protection for the chemical.
