29 CFR 1926.501(b)(11): Each employee on a steep roof with unprotected sides and edges 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above lower levels was not protected from falling by guardrail systems with toeboards, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems: a. Site - Employees performing roofing work were not protected from falls of approximately 25 feet while sitting atop the roofs peak, distributing shingles, without the use of fall protection. b. Site - Employees performing roofing work were not protected from falls of approximately 25 feet when body belts attached to lifelines were used in lieu of one of the acceptable forms of protection noted above.
