OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to vehicles falling from or shifting on automotive lifts: In the following instances, employees were exposed to the hazards of falling and/or shifting vehicles: a) Garage - Two auto lifts in the front servicing area were not inspected annually. b) Garage - Operators do not perform periodic inspections on lifts. c) Garage - The employees who operate auto lifts have received no formal training and certification in auto lift operation. d) Garage - The ALI/LP-Guide "Quick Reference Guide, Vehicle Lifting Points for Frame Engaging Lifts" was not available for employees' use.
