29 CFR 1926.850(a): Prior to permitting employees to start demolition operations, an engineering survey shall be made, by a competent person, of the structure to determine the condition of the framing, floors, and walls, and possibility of unplanned collapse of any portion of the structure. Any adjacent structure where employees may be exposed shall also be similarly checked. The employer shall have in writing evidence that such a survey has been performed. Location: c/o Bloomfield Ave and Ward St., Bloomfield, NJ. a) Employer failed to produce evidence in writing that an engineering survey was performed prior to allowing employees to commence demolition operations at the site; on or about 8/19/19.

29 CFR 1926.850(b): The walls or floors were not shored or braced where employee(s) were required to work within a damaged structure to be demolished. Location: c/o Bloomfield Ave and Ward St, Bloomfield, NJ. a) Employer did not shore a damaged wall (along Ward St) that was part of the building being demolished and was left standing-alone for approximately 3 days. Employees worked adjacent to the un-shored wall thereby exposing them to crush-by hazards at the demolition site; on or about 8/12/13.
