29 CFR 1926.652(a)(1): Each employee in an excavation was not protected from cave-ins by an adequate protective system designed in accordance with 29 CFR 1926.652(b) or 1926.652(c): a) On September 12, 2019, an employee was not protected from the hazard of cave-in while working in a trench measuring between approximately 5.3 to 6.6 feet in depth. C. Szabo Contracting, Inc. was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 29 CFR 1926.652(a)(1), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1253348, citation number 1, item number 2 and was affirmed as a final order on October 4, 2017, with respect to a workplace located at 800 Leicester Rd., Elk Grove Village, IL 60007.
