On or about September 20, 2019 at 1040 Lancaster Lane, Madison, Georgia two employees working from heights between nine (9) and 19 feet above the lower level were exposed to a fall hazard to the lower level while framing a new residence under construction.

29 CFR 1926.1053(b)(1): Where portable ladders were used for access to an upper landing surface and the ladder's length allows, the ladder side rails did not extend at least 3 feet (.9 m) above the upper landing surface being accessed. On or about September 20, 2019 at 1040 Lancaster Lane, Madison, Georgia employees using a portable ladder to access/egress the working level were exposed to a fall hazard of approximately nine (9) feet to the lower level when the ladder did not extend three (3) feet above the working level.

On or about September 20, 2019 at 1040 Lancaster Lane, Madison, Georgia the employees using an eight (8) foot portable ladder to access the upper level were exposed to a fall hazard of nine(9) feet to the lower level when the ladder was leaned against the studs. The ladder was not used for the purpose it was designed.
