29 CFR 1910.29(a)(1): (1) Ensure each fall protection system and falling object protection, other than personal fall protection systems, that 29 CFR part 1910 requires meets the requirements in this section. The employer must ensure each personal fall protection system meets the requirements in 29 CFR part 1910, subpart I; and 29 CFR 1910.29(a)(2): Provide and install all fall protection systems and falling object protection this subpart requires, and comply with the other requirements in this subpart before any employee begins work that necessitates fall or falling object protection. a. On or about September 26, 2019, employees were installing fire panels on warehouse storage racks. The employer failed to ensure the employee kept the work within reaching distance to avoid leaning over the guardrail system resulting in a fall of over 7 feet. The employee was hospitalized as a result of the injuries.

29 CFR 1910.30(a)(1): (a) Fall hazards. (1) Before any employee is exposed to a fall hazard, the employer must provide training for each employee who uses personal fall protection systems or who is required to be trained as specified elsewhere in this subpart. Employers must ensure employees are trained in the requirements of this paragraph on or before May 17, 2017. a. On or about September 26, 2019, the employer failed to instruct each employee in the avoidance of unsafe conditions while installing fire panels on warehouse storage racks.
