29 CFR 1910.37(a)(4): Safeguard(s) designed to protect employees during an emergency (e.g., sprinkler systems, alarm systems, fire doors, exit lighting), were not in proper working order at all times: South portion of Work Room: The designated exit door leading from the work room floor to outside was damaged. The fire door did not fit into the door frame adequately and the inside locking mechanism was damaged.

29 CFR 1910.37(b)(2): Each exit was not clearly visible and marked by a sign reading "Exit": North portion of Work Room: The designated exit loading dock door leading from the work room floor to outside was not clearly marked as an exit. The exit sign was covered up by a portion of the door frame. ABATEMENT DOCUMENTATION IS REQUIRED The U.S. Postal Service was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard which was contained in OSHA inspection number 997104, citation number 01, item number 001 and was affirmed as a final order on 11/28, 2014, with respect to a workplace located at 2226 MacArthur Blvd in Oakland, CA 94602.
