29 CFR 1910.29(f)(1)(ii)(A):  The height of stair rail systems installed before January 17, 2017 was less than 30 inches from the leading edge of the stair tread to the top surface of the top rail:  Building 1327, Retail Store, Stairwell access to the 2nd floor:  Employees were using the stairs to access the 2nd floor for tires stored in the South room.  Employees use the stairs up to 20 times per day in conjunction with their normal duties. The height of the stair rail system measured from the leading edge of the stair tread to the top surface of the top rail was measured to 29 inches. Employees were exposed to trip/miss-step and falls.

The minimum clearance between handrails and any other object was not 2.25 inches:   Building 1327, Retail Store, Stairwell access to the 2nd floor:  Employees were accessing stairs that had a single square iron top rail to retrieve tires that were stored on the 2nd floor in conjunction with their normal duties.  The top rail was installed flush with the wall and did not allow employees to fully grip the railing.  Employees were exposed to trip/miss-step and falls.

Handrails and stair rail systems were not smooth-surfaced to protect employees from injury, such as punctures or lacerations, and to prevent catching or snagging of clothing:   Building 1327, Retail Store, Stairwell access to the 2nd floor:  Employees were accessing stairs that had a single square iron top rail to retrieve tires that were stored on the 2nd floor in conjunction with their normal duties.  The railing had sharp corner areas at the entry points of the stairs that had the ability to catch clothing and employees.  Employees were exposed to punctures, lacerations and falls.

Employees were exposed to electrical hazards.  b) Building 13026, North Bay Area: The power strip used to charge batteries and tools was plugged into an orange extension cord then into the wall outlet. Employees were exposed to electrical hazards.  c) Building 1327, 2nd Floor Tire Storage Room: The electrical switchbox attached to the HVAC unit on the North wall had a missing knock out on the metal housing. Employees pulled tires off racks in this aisle and passed by the electrical hazards to exit the narrow aisle way. Employees were exposed to electrical hazards.

Cord Reel did not have strain relief and the rubber sheathing was pulled away from the coated electrical copper wire plug housing point. Employees were exposed to electrical hazards.  b) Building 13026, Maintenance Shop: The Tire Balancing Machine did not have strain relief and the rubber sheathing was pulled away from the coated electrical copper wire plug housing point. Employees were exposed to electrical hazards.  c) Building 13026, Maintenance Shop, Center Aisle way: The electrical transfer box cover was open and not secured to the box housingshowing exposed wiring. Employees continuously work in this area servicing vehicles and continuously throughout the day pass the electrical fixtures. Employees are exposed to electrical hazards.
