29 CFR 1910.265(c)(4)(iv): Elevated walk(s) and runway(s), 4 feet or more from floor level, were not provided with a standard railing: a) On the Debarker #1 elevated platform: On or about October 3, 2016, and at times prior thereto, the employer failed to ensure that standard railings were installed, in that a top-railing height was 33-in. above the platform walkway, thus exposing employees to fall hazards of at least 12 ft. to the ground. b) On the Debarker #1 runway traversing the trough-dump conveyor: On or about October 3, 2016, and at times prior thereto, the employer failed to ensure that standard railings were installed, in that a mid-rail was not installed, thus exposing employees to fall hazards of approximately 12 ft. to the ground. W.M. Sheppard Lumber Co., Inc. was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard, 1910.265(c)(4)(iv), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1009904, citation number 1, item number 5, and was affirmed a final order on May 21, 2015, with respect to a workplace located at 15175 U.S. Highway 80, Brooklet, GA.
