29 CFR 1926.102(a)(1): Employees were not provided with eye and face protection equipment when machines or operations present potential eye or face injury from physical, chemical, or radiation agents:    a) Roof - On or about October 8, 2019, an employee was observed operating a pneumatic nail gun to secure shingles to the roof of a building and was not provided eye protection, exposed to ricochet nails and flying debris.    Abatement certification required within 10 days after abatement date. The certification shall include a statement that abatement is complete, date and method of abatement, and states employees and their representatives were informed of this abatement.

29 CFR 1926.501(b)(11): Each employee on a steep roof with unprotected sides and edges 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above lower levels was not protected from falling by guardrail systems with toeboards, safety net systems or personal fall arrest systems:    a) Roof - On or about October 8, 2019, and times prior thereto, employees removing and installing roofing materials were permitted to work at elevated heights on a 6:12 sloped roof, as far as approximately 8 feet above ground level, and were not protected from falling.    Abatement certification required within 10 days after abatement date. The certification shall include a statement that abatement is complete, date and method of abatement, and states employees and their representatives were informed of this abatement.
