1926.503(a)(2)(ii):   Except as otherwise provided in paragraph (b) of this section, each employee engaged in roofing activities on low-slope roofs, with unprotected sides and edges 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above lower levels shall be protected from falling by guardrail systems, safety net systems, personal fall arrest systems, or a combination of warning line system and guardrail system, warning line system and safety net system, or warning line system and personal fall arrest system, or warning line system and safety monitoring system:    (a)Great Plains Roofing & Architectural Sheet Metal, LLC at 1308 Rushmore Drive, Brandon SD, 57005: On or about and at times prior to October 17, 2019, the employer did not ensure that fall protection systems were utilized by employees conducting re-roofing activities on the Brandon Steakhouse and Lounge. Employees were engaged in the installation of an EPDM system on the roof. Employees were working on the east side and west side of the roof near the edge without an adequate fall protection system. This condition exposed employees to a fall hazard of approximately 12 feet.     Great Plains Roofing & Architectural Sheet Metal, LLC was previously cited for a violation of this Occupational Safety and Health standard or its equivalent standard 29 CFR 1926.501(b)(10), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1231212, citation number 1, item number 1, and was affirmed as a final order on 8/16/2017 with respect to a workplace located at 6300 West 41st  Street, Sioux Falls, SD 57106.
