29 CFR 1926.501(b)(1): Each employee on a walking/working surface with an unprotected side or edge which was 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above a lower level was not protected from falling by the use of guardrail systems, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems: a) Jobsite: On October 16, 2019 and at times prior thereto the controlling employer, Ginno Construction Company, Inc., did not ensure it sub-contractors protected their employees from open sided floor fall hazards. A guardrail system was not in place at two (2) locations in an area where sub-contractor employees staged work materials and equipment. The 23 inch and 29 inch openings exposed the employees to a ten foot fall hazard to the level below. Note) Corrected during inspection.
