The electric motor used in the refrigeration unit that stored the raw plastic bead containing pentane was not approved for the location, exposing employees to hazards from fire and explosion.

29 CFR 1910.1200(h)(1): Employees were not provided effective information and training on hazardous chemicals in their work area at the time of their initial assignment and whenever a new chemical hazard that the employees had not been previously trained about was introduced into their work area:   a.) On or about October 22, 2019, the employer did not train employees on the hazards of the chemicals they were working with.  Employees unloading the raw plastic beads embedded with pentane were exposed to hazardous materials.  The employees were not trained on the hazards of working with the raw plastic beads and the off gassing of pentane if not kept frozen resulting in a fire and explosion.
