29 CFR 1910.107(g)(2): All spraying areas shall be kept as free from the accumulation of deposits of combustible residues as practical, with cleaning conducted daily if necessary. Scrapers, spuds, or other such tools used for cleaning purposes shall be of nonsparking material: At a facility located at 1112 Water Street, Merrill, WI 54452; the walls, floors and portable dividers of the Paint Shop spray area were not kept as free as practical from accumulations of deposits of combustible residue generated by overspray during spray coating operations.

General-duty citation text
29 CFR 1910.107(c)(6): Electrical wiring and equipment not subject to deposits of combustible residues but located in a spraying area as herein defined shall be of explosion-proof type approved for Class I, group D locations and shall otherwise conform to the provisions of subpart S of this part, for Class I, Division 1, Hazardous Locations. Electrical wiring, motors, and other equipment outside of but within twenty (20) feet of any spraying area, and not separated therefrom by partitions, shall not produce sparks under normal operating conditions and shall otherwise conform to the provisions of subpart S of this part for Class I, Division 2 Hazardous Locations: At a facility located at 1112 Water Street, Merrill, WI 54452; electrical control pendants for the overhead cranes were no of explosion-proof type approved for use in Class I, Division I hazardous locations. The pendants were used within 20 feet of spray areas and were not designed to prevent the pendants from becoming potential ignition sources to the flammable gases and vapors in the spray painting process.
