29 CFR 1926.501(b)(1): Each employee on a walking/working surface with an unprotected side or edge which was 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above a lower level was not protected from falling by the use of guardrail systems, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems. a) On or about 10/24/19, at the College Village housing units, located on the campus of Genesee Community College in Batavia, New York, the employer did not enforce the use of fall protection for its employees working 26 feet above lower levels installing roofing materials. NO ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION REQUIRED The R.A. Haitz Company was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 1926.501(b)(1), which was contained in OSHA inspection number_1239208, citation number_1, item number__1 and was affirmed as a final order on 10/17/2017, with respect to a workplace located at 44 West Main Street, Batavia, New York 14020.
