29 CFR 1926.501(b)(1): "Unprotected sides and edges." Each employee on a walking/working surface (horizontal and vertical surface) with an unprotected side or edge which is 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above a lower level shall be protected from falling by the use of guardrail systems, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems. On October 28, 2019, located on a commercial roof, an employee was exposed to a fall hazard sweeping water from a low pitch roof while standing near the edge of the roof not utilizing any fall protection system. Potential fall height measured to be 13'-2" with a roof pitch of 2 in 12.

29 CFR 1926.502(a)(2): Employers shall provide and install all fall protection systems required by this subpart for an employee, and shall comply with all other pertinent requirements of this subpart before that employee begins the work that necessitates the fall protection. (A) Guardrail systems; (B) Safety net systems; or (C) Personal fall protection systems, such as personal fall arrest, travel restraint, or positioning systems. On October 28, 2019, located on a commercial roof, an employee was exposed to a fall hazard sweeping water from a low pitch roof while standing near the edge of the roof and that the employer failed to install a fall protection system prior to the employee performing the work. Potential fall height was measured to be 13'-2" with a roof pitch of 2 in 12.

Potential fall height measured to be 13'-2" with a roof pitch of 2 in 12.
