29 CFR 1926.102(a)(1): The employer shall ensure that each affected employee uses appropriate eye or face protection when exposed to eye or face hazards from flying particles, molten metal, liquid chemicals, acids or caustic liquids, chemical gases or vapors, or potentially injurious light radiation. a. On or about October 25, 2019, at the above addressed jobsite, employees using pneumatic nail guns while conducting roofing operations did not wear safety glasses, thereby exposing the employees to the hazards associated with eye injuries.

29 CFR 1926.501(b)(13): Each employee engaged in residential construction activities 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above lower levels was not protected by guardrail systems, safety net systems, personal fall arrest systems: a. On or about October 25, 2019, at the above addressed jobsite, employees performing roofing operations on a low slope roof were not protected from falls due to the lack of the use of a personal fall protection system, thereby exposing employees to fall hazards of approximately seventeen (17) to eighteen (18) feet above ground. A-Abel Roofing, Inc. was previously cited for a violation of this Occupational Safety and Health Standard 1926.501(b)(13), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1311344, citation number 1, item number 1 and was affirmed as a final order on June 28, 2018, with respect to a workplace located at 12049 Meadowland Drive, Homer Glen, IL 60491. A-Abel Roofing, Inc. was previously cited for a violation of this Occupational Safety and Health Standard 1926.501(b)(13), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1276675, citation number 1, item number 1 and was affirmed as a final order on January 25, 2018, with respect to a workplace located at 7307 194th Street, Tinley Park, IL 60487.
