Such programs would support the employer and employees in identifying and avoiding potential hazards such as falls during job site operations, decreasing the probability of employee injury and/or illness.

29 CFR 1926.503(a)(1): The employer did not provide a training program for each employee potentially exposed to fall hazards to enable each employee to recognize the hazards of falling and the procedures to be followed in order to minimize these hazards: a) On or about October 29, 2019, at the worksite located at 4444 Heatherdowns Rd. in Toledo, OH: The employer did not ensure that employees had been trained in the appropriate use of fall protection such as, but not limited to, the use of personal fall arrest systems or alternative measures while performing roofing work. Employees were exposed to a 14 foot fall hazard to the ground below while performing roofing activities.

Toledo, OH: The employer failed to ensure the warning line installed around the working area maintained a height of no more than 39 inches from the working surface. Employees working in the area of high warning lines were exposed to falls of up to 13 ft. to the ground below.
