29 CFR 1910.132(a): Protective equipment, including personal protective equipment for eyes, face, head, and extremities, protective clothing, respiratory devices, and protective shields and barriers, were not provided, used, and maintained in a sanitary and reliable condition wherever it is necessary by reason of hazards of processes or environment, chemical hazards, radiological hazards, or mechanical irritants encountered in a manner capable of causing injury or impairment in the function of any part of the body through absorption, inhalation or physical contact:    a). On or about 10/30/19, on site, for employees conducting winding operations, and or working with liquid resin. The liquid resin contains chemicals that cause skin sensitization. These chemicals include, but are not limited to, Maleic Anhydride, Methly Methacrylate, and Styrene. The employer did not provide impermeable protective clothing to include long sleeves to resist absorption of the resin onto the skin, safety goggles to prevent splashes to the eyes and skin around the eyes.

29 CFR 1910.132(d)(1)(i): When the employer had assessed the workplace hazard(s) and determined that hazard(s) were present, the employer did not select and/or use the types of personal protective equipment that would protect the affected employee from the hazards identified in the assessment.     a). On or about 10/30/19, on site, for employees conducting winding operations, and or working with liquid resin. The liquid resin contains chemicals that cause skin sensitization. These chemicals include, such as, but not limited to, Maleic Anhydride, Methly Methacrylate, and Styrene. The employer did not select protective clothing that is impermeable to the resin.     b). 29 CFR 1910.132(d)(2): The employer did not verify that the required workplace hazard assessment has been performed through a written certification which included the requirements as outlined in 29 CFR 1910.132(d)(2):  a). On or about 10/30/19, on site, for employees conducting winding operations, and or working with liquid resin. The liquid resin contains chemicals that cause skin sensitization. These chemicals include, such as, but not limited to, Maleic Anhydride, Methly Methacrylate, and Styrene. The employer conducted a hazard assessment to provide and require PPE. However, the employer failed to include a written certification to include the requirements outlined in 29 CFR 1910. 132(d)(2).
