29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks: (a) Mail Room: On October 25, 2019 and times prior, the employer did not ensure that the Quipp Center Pacer (CP4220) was adequately guarded to protect employees from being caught between the cycling metal plates mechanical housing. (b) Mail Room: On October 25, 2019 and times prior, the employer did not ensure that the Quipp newspaper bundle strapper was adequately guarded to protect employee from being struck-by the cycling strapper fixture and/or hold downs.
