Each employee on a walking/working surface (horizontal and vertical surface) with an unprotected side or edge which is 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above a lower level shall be protected from falling by the use of guardrail systems, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems. (A) 1864 Route 70, Cherry Hill, NJ: Each employee was not protected from falling as required, while performing sheet metal roofing repairs. Condition Noted on or about 11/04/2019.

29 CFR 1926.1053(b)(1): The side rails of portable ladders used for access did not extend at least 3 feet above the upper landing surface, or was secured at its top to a rigid support that will not deflect and along with a grasping devise to assist employees mounting and dismounting the ladder. A) 1864 Route 70, Cherry Hill, NJ: The ladder being used to access the roof of a commercial building was not extended 3 feet past the eave. Condition observed on or about 11/04/2019.
