29 CFR 1910.179(l)(3)(i): Any unsafe conditions disclosed by the inspection requirements of paragraph (j) of this section were not corrected before operation of the crane was resumed. a) Facility: The employer allowed employees to operate a Conco 5 ton crane after an annual inspection conducted on 1/24/19, indicated the safety risk posed by the brake pads of the hoisting machinery, on or about 11/5/19. NOTE: THE EMPLOYER IS REQUIRED TO SUBMIT ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION FOR THIS ITEM. FAILURE TO COMPLY WILL RESULT IN AN ADDITIONAL PENALTY OF $1000.00 IN ACCORDANCE WITH 29 CFR 1903.19.
