Terra Dining Hall, Kitchen - The employer did not provide employees who are required to work with injurious corrosive material with suitable eyewash facilities within the work area for immediate emergency use. The safety data sheet for this product stated that the pH was 14, thus exposing employees to chemical burns to the eyes. Observed On or About November 1, 2019

29 CFR 1910.1200(h)(3)(ii): Employee training did not include the physical and health hazards of the chemicals in the work area: a. Terra Dining Hall, Kitchen - The employer did not provide employees with training on the hazards of mixing bleach (sodium hypochlorite) with incompatible cleaning chemicals, such as, acids (eg. Lime-A-way) and cleaning compounds that contained ammonia. An employee became ill after she had inhaled a mixture of bleach, Lime-A-way, Spic & Span, and a degreaser. Observed on About November 1, 2019
