OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees: (a) On or about 10/28/2019 - Pusher Side Bench, the Safety Spotter was not in an appropriate position to observe and monitor the Pusher, exposing employees to being struck-by the Pusher car when working from scissor lifts to repair ovens. Among other methods, feasible and acceptable methods of abatement include, but are not limited to, retraining of oven repair crews, camera installed on Pusher to provide a view of the north, travel siren modified to sound while coasting, oven repair crew radios reprogrammed to send and receive on one channel, radio transmission speakers mounted at the battery, policy preventing employees from riding in the Pusher operator's cab (unless their job duties require the same), and flashing lights are used.
