29 CFR 1910.179(l)(3)(i): Unsafe condition(s) disclosed during the frequent or periodic inspection(s) required by 29 CFR 1910.179(j) were not corrected before operation of the crane(s) was resumed:    a) Steelmaking Building: On or about January 28, 2020, unsafe conditions disclosed in the inspection requirements of 29 CFR 1910.179(j) were not corrected as required and/or adjustments made by designated personnel on the "27 Down-River Pit Crane". Multiple conditions rated as Category E requiring immediate shutdown and Category 1 requiring repair in a month were reported to the employer on a January 19, 2019 and have not been corrected and carried over to a January 28, 2020 report to the employer.    b) Steelmaking Building: On or about January 28, 2020, unsafe conditions disclosed in the inspection requirements of 29 CFR 1910.179(j) were not corrected as required and/or adjustments made by designated personnel on the "92 Up-River Charging Crane". Multiple conditions rated as Category E requiring immediate shutdown and Category 1 requiring repair in a month were reported to the employer on a November 26, 2018 and have not been corrected and carried over to a October 23, 2019 report to the employer.    c) Steelmaking Building: On or about January 28, 2020, unsafe conditions disclosed in the inspection requirements of 29 CFR 1910.179(j) were not corrected as required and/or adjustments made by designated personnel on the "28 Up-River Pit Crane". Multiple conditions rated as Category 1 requiring repair in a month were reported to the employer in the previous year and have not been corrected and carried over to a January 27, 2020 report to the employer.    d) Castor Building: On or about January 28, 2020, unsafe conditions disclosed in the inspection requirements of 29 CFR 1910.179(j) were not corrected as required and/or adjustments made by designated personnel on the "170 Hot Metal Crane". Multiple conditions rated as Category E requiring immediate shutdown and Category 1 requiring repair in a month were reported to the employer on a November 26, 2018 and have not been corrected and carried over to a October 23, 2019 report to the employer.    Abatement certification and documentation required within 10 days after abatement date. The certification shall include a statement that abatement is complete, the date and method of abatement, and state that employees and their representatives were informed of this abatement. Abatement documentation shall include documents demonstrating that abatement is complete, such as evidence of the purchase or repair of equipment, photographic or video evidence of abatement or other written records.
